I'm in the market for a pillar mount, boost, and pyro gauge.
Hoping to not break the bank. My truck already has a tap in the manifold for the pyro from the previous owner.

Any suggestions?

I have been running PPE gauges for a couple years and had no issues, pillar mounts are a dime a dozen, but there are differences, like the angle the pod projects the gauges at, how they "hang" from the pod, some hang straight down some orientate the gauges to face the driver more, I got mine from PPE as well, I think it's an autometer triple gauge pillar pod, but I like it. The only thing I don't like is, sometimes I will lean down to grab the hood latch release and bump my head on the lower gauge:rolleyes:

Gauges are a personal preference, personally I didn't want mine to stand out all that much, so I got the ppe stuff cause they work and they aren't bright and blingy, and ppe has great customer service in case there is an issue. I know you said you are only looking for a boost and pyro gauge, but there are three main things to monitor, and one of them is fuel, it's not totally necessary and there are probably a bunch of guys that don't run one, but I really appreciate having a rail pressure gauge, just something to think about before you commit and spend the coin...

You can get glow shift gauges for cheap on ebay, but I'm not a big fan of their gauges. I like auto meter stuff. Let me know if you would like a price.

As stated glow shift gauges are pretty cheap, but personally I have replaced many gauges of them in the past. Quality and durability of them seems to be an issue. But I have never owned them myself. Contact a vendor on here and support the site that way!

Are there still decent gauge sets available for the cubby above the mirror? I don't like the 'A' pillar ones. There's enough of a blind spot there without gauges. With 'em I wind up 1/2 blind not to mention the regular forehead dings already mentioned.

At one time I had my gauges mounted in the cubby but found myself never looking at them. For me it was more natural to look at the pillar while pulling a hill, driving etc. I bought mine from another member but here is a link to Socal http://www.socaldiesel.com/Gauge.htm where you can grab one.

I got glowshift. Everyone complains about them but i only had a pyrometer sensor go bad and they ended up replacing it and the gauge for free. No problems out of my boost, tranny temp or fuel pressure gauge so far and had them for about a year

If i was gonna build a weekend warrior I'd get a glowshift. Cheap and they seem to be accurate enough. Personnally I have autometer everything, but there are other options for cheaper. They just dont look as cool IMO

This is what I got for mine and my dad's. I do need to get a new probe for my dad's, his doesn't work right but mine works like a champ. Very responsive and accurate as far as I can tell. It shows analog boost, digital egt and digital lift pump psi. Scored it for $180 on eBay with everything. The mounting bracket kind of sucks but can only be seen if you look for it. Plus eventually I'm going to make a plate and mount it in the cubby hole to the right of ac controls and below the radio for a different look
