Truck has 575,000km 359,000miles any tips on what I should be looking at? It has an engine light and im bringing the v2 but I was just curious if anyone knew of problems associated with this many miles. The price is right on it, would make a cheap farm truck even if it stayed together for a year

I would just check the obvious things, Pressure in coolant system or hopefully lack there of, check for excessive blow by out the oil fill while running. Let it warm up and check balance rates on injectors and rail pressure. check oils, coolant level and any tell tale signs of previous programers. You could compare the hrs VS miles to get a idea if the truck spent most of its life pulling trailers across the country or simply from town to town so to speak. Plenty of these trucks are running around with 500k plus when properly maintained and left stock (Or close 2)....

I know this truck was never programmed or tuned. everything is stock, its owned by a large truck company in the city, it has an ugly rack on it but easily removed. Would make an excellent short bed conversion candidate in the future lol

Lbz can go forever it seems with only minor repairs, I have a customer with 470,000 miles and he has just replaced wheel bearings and the front end stuff. Other than basic general maintinace it has been almost flawless, had a warped fuse panel underhood cause some issues but thats it. I would not shy away from it for that price at all...

2nd on dividing the miles by hours. Anything over 35 mph average is an indication of not too much idling. Must have had decent maint to go that long. Get a VIN check if you can so you know what has been done.

390,000/54 = 7222.22 repeating... but math is not my strong suit.

Ill take your word for it, ;)

My gasser 2500 work truck has 16,000hrs and 152,000miles :roflmao:

That would be alot of idling, wow....

I'm trying to figure out how one of my trucks reads 330k but only 4k hrs:confused:

And to the O.P is that a 2wd or 4X4? If its 4 wheel drive I dont see how you could go wrong for 5k or less....

I know of many trucks that had the hour meter reset, including my 1500. Went to the dealer for a "Service 4wd" message and got it back with 0 hours on it.

Its a 2wd, I need to check the vin. local GM tech told me that the work truck 2wd's have lly's in 06, if thats the case I wont be nearly as excited about it lol

if it has the red letter dmax badge then its a lly

if it has the dmax alli combo badge then it a lbz

in my experience i havent seen a 06 lly with the newer combo badge

i could be wrong but this is what i have seen
