Hey guys, I'm chasing my tail on this problem I have been having. Searched and searched. I've done all suggestions the dealer gave me, and what I have found online.

So last year I put new injectors in (all 8 new lines etc) all was well till last month. Started having a hard time in the cold, had fuel knock when working the engine. Had balance rates tested, all we're great but #6 shot it was around 6.7-7 (just out of warranty with no help)

The other injectors only had 12k on them so I only swapped the one out, started and ran awesome again. Shut it down and let it sit outside overnight (15deg) started it in the morning and it missed like crazy white smoke everywhere until it ran for ~5 minutes and cleared out, I thought air. Now it does it every cold startup.

Balance rates are good (tested repeatedly), pulled glow plugs to see if any injectors might be leaking, all dry (replaced glow plugs) once warm it runs great, it's just the first 5 minutes. Glow plugs are functioning too.

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to be as precise as possible with what's going on, any suggestions? I'm almost at the point of swapping the engine haha

If you arent plugging it in at night, please start. Mine does the same thing every morning in the winter unless its 30* outside.

I have to agree with the others. Once it reaches a certain temp the trucks don't like it too much. Plug it in and see how that does. If it's only at start up til things warm up I'd say yr probably over paranoid at this point

Mine chugs and misses like an old Detroit and throws clouds of whitish smoke for a few minutes when it gets really cold. The MA mounts add to the shake and rattle, too.
My co-workers give me the  look like its going to blow up when I start her up at the end of a long, cold workday. I figure, if it does, oh well.

I usually plug it in, but it has never done this before, it is way worse than ever. Even at 32 this morning it was bad.
This is the third winter with this truck in Idaho routine is the same every year. Maybe I am being paranoid and it is what it is, I've just never had this before.

check the glowplugs I just had this issue with an LB7 and all the gp's were bad. checked everyone with a set of jumper cables once I took them out and nto one of them got hot. might do a comp test also. does it start and idle the first time or does it take a few fire up and dies for it to stay running? I know on this lb7 that it would not even send power to the gp's if they had and open circuit. I though to myself how does it know they are bad? as soon as I put in new glowplugs I had my fluke meter connected I saw it sending 11-12 volts which it was not before.

Once it fires it stays running just misses, might take some cranking though.
All glow plugs are new, tested the connector bars, and they are getting the voltage (tested with a multimeter)

As for the video I will have to get it when I get back home, headed back to ND for work again

Better check compression then. They should start like that mine doesn't when it's in the single digits and I had this lb7 that I put an engine in that had no gp's working and it would start a couple times and die and then would start and stay running but just stumbled for 5 seconds or so but them smoothed out and that was in the low teens sitting for a couple days
