I have a customer who buys and sells antique Airstream trailers. He likes to have them put on a flatbed trailer and transported in and out of the west Los Angeles area to all parts of the lower 48 states. Usually it is once a month delivery. All jobs are paid cash at $1.00 a mile. The trailers that he buys and sells are from the 50's, 60's and 70's and are 14' to 22' hitch to bumper, so you will need a flatbed big enough to fit one on there and you will need a winch to load/unload them with no help from him or his customers.

What he does is buy them in original shape and then he restores them. Once restored he puts them up for sale. Usually that takes a month to complete. I have been using UShip to help make the roundtrip profitable. All of them will start or end up in LA. at some point in time. You also need to be really good at backing trailers down a sharp downhill left turn driveway.Btw, nothing longer than 22' will make it. I have tried. So, there is an area a couple of blocks away where you can load/unload the Airstream and then tow it to/from the house.

I love Airstreams always wanted one. Don't know if they go as far as LA, but my dad works for thrift trucking in Peoria, Il. I know they do hotshots.

I have towed so many now that I would not buy an antique model. Just stick with a new one under warranty - and a/c, and modern plumbing, and a toilet that works, and 12v lighting, and windows that don't leak, and doors that close properly that seal out dust and rain, and the list can go on and on... Besides, the price will be the same either way old or new.
