Does anyone have a torque plate they would like to sell or rent? block is heading to the machine shop in Portland Oregon this week and they said they have 45 different torque plates but not one for a duramax and didn't really want to buy one. and I'd rather not buy one but I want the job done right I checked everywhere and the only shop within driving distance that had one is 8+ hours one way and doesn't have the best rep from what I have been hearing. 541-263-0311. thanks

I can get one cheaper from Guy but only one is needed, bolt them down with an old head gasket and bore 4 cylinders and swap it over tot he other side and do those 4. no nead to torque plate both sides at the same time. 640 shipped is what he quoted me.

Yeah the guy asked me how nessecary it was, he said I know on a small block chevy it was a huge difference so IDK. Is it possible that not using one could contribute to some of these built motors using oil?

Mine hasn't used any only have 1000 miles on It has killer compression. Imo as long as a competent machine shop does the work your fine I checked all my clearances my self I gapped the rings a little more per mahles spec. If this was a strictly race only 1300+ hp I'd say maybe it'd be something I'd probably do but for 1k and lower I didn't see it important but that's only my opinion.

Yeah my goal is 600 towing 800-850 on the hot setting and thats it. 600 is plenty on the street which im there now. And 850 is not really usuable unless in 4WD and even then there won't me much that will touch it.
