Over the last three weeks, my CEL comes on and stays on for a few days and then goes off. When I check the codes it gives a po402 (egr excessive flow) code. I looked for some information and found some but not a lot. With the fingerstick and blocker plate installed for the last 6 months or so and this is starting to get annoying, does anyone know what I can do to get rid of this problem?

Thanks in advance

i'd start by checking the finger stick connections. if they are dirty or corroded a bad connection will make it not work correctly and cause codes from what I have read in the past. I never used a finger stick myself so its just a guess on my part.

If I remember correctly for the fingerstick to work you need a working EGR motor. I had this happen with the stick and blocker. Took it in and had the EGR motor replaced and all is well now.

Went out this morning and looked for loose intake connections and found possible leak source. The boot and clamp around the base of the resonator seems loose and it pulled out without much effort.

Lotsofmiles: No tuner, had it checked at a local shop last week and that was the only code in the computer. It comes on and goes after two or three days and it came back on again Wednesday afternoon when I was driving home from town.

tinman22: soldered connections still look good

trorotorx2: so a bad egr motor will give the p0402 code (excessive egr flow)

Update: deleted resonator and plugged the hole and that f'in light came back on again this morning. Didn't get the code pulled but I'm assuming it's the same one. Silo this weekend I'm going to pull the whole intake off and figure out where the hell this leak is
