I hotshot with my 07 classic, all stock except k&n,and just installed ppe lift pump, was concerned about the time I idle, could be hour or longer getting loaded or unloaded. with the lift pump should I install a toggle switch to turn off pump during long idle or is it okay to run?

The lift pump won't hurt anything while idling, the PID fuel pressure feedback loop will compensate for it.
I've idled my truck for 4+ hours at a time with no problems. No fuel in oil afterwards, or anything. Some people say it is bad for the truck, but I personally disagree.

I get up in the morning and head out to make sales calls and my truck gets shut off for lunch only. It idles when I'm inside with a customer, I don't like to sweat when I'm in nice clothes! LOL
No issues that I can tell. I'm sure the lift pump gets warm and heats the fuel but shouldn't cause and problems other than a little HP loss.

I've thought about a Holley Black also, I didn't know if they could pump diesel. I know that I've seen fuel pumps for gasoline and diesel seperate. Does anyone know if they can handle diesel?
I would go with a pump intended for diesel fuel, I ran a 1792 for a while, it started to leak about 3 months after we installed it, I know a couple guys who used a Holley Blue pump they only last about a few months too, seems like they don't like diesel fuel??? What is in the diesel that is causing these pumps that usually last for years running gasoline through them?? Xcablb7 has been running a Mallory pump for a while now I'm pretty sure he still is and he hasn't had an issue with that one??
It's not the fuel that causes failure, it's not filtering before pump that kills them. I put 3 on the cummins in a year before I put spin on between tank and pump, last one was on for 2 years and was still holding 15psi at wot when I sold it.

everything I've read says it is. It is rated for gas and alcohol. most of the pumps are just for gas. but if they are good for alcohol they have different seals and whatnot, therefore people run them on a diesel with good results.
I have heard they are quite loud though. I'll probably end up with a raptor
