"long" haul

ok so Im about to move from Virginia to Texas roughly 1300 miles. I plan on pulling my 18ft enclosed trailer (roughly 5k lbs) with a volkswagen passat (4400 lbs) a motor cycle (600 lbs) and as much crap as my wife piles into the car to add on. I'm estimating 15000 lbs with a reese hitch and a completely stock truck besides slightly oversized tires and an after market exhaust... I think i should be good but is there any suggestions on things to watch for?

Welcome to texas. Looks like your post said you were going to pull with the passat, but I read it again. I wouldn't know what to suggest but to look out for stupid drivers and watch your temps. Im sure you will be fine, plenty people tow with stock trucks, be safe. Btw where you moving to in texas?

ft worth area. Im from texas but getting out of the Army in about 8 months so Im moving home

Welcome back, well in the near future. Im east of dallas about 50 miles. There are some good guys on this forum that live within a few hours of ft.worth.

If the fluids in the truck are up to date and the fuel filter is good, the truck should be fine. Keep the speed down and watch trailer tires and air psi. I just did a overloaded trip cross country on a truck with 251xxx miles on it. It lived because I went 62-65mph the whole way. Don't let the tail wag the dog and have a safe trip.

load the trailer right (60/40). won't hurt to have a spare fuel filter in case you get some bad fuel. The difference between 70MPH and 62MPH can be huge if you are catching a lot of wind
