I'm really having trouble figuring out how to log. It took me along time to figure out how to take my stock tune out and put the new tune in. I downloaded Build 88 but I'm lost. I tried to start my PID list but I have no idea what I'm doing. What does PID stand for anyway? Can anybody post a link or something that will make this easier to figure out? Or is someone that has alot of patience want to spend an hour with me on the phone.

Ok, are you doing the stand alone logging or the logging through the laptop?

Stand alone is just using the v2 box - no laptop, and you view later.....

Laptop is plugging in the v2 to the computer, and logging through the V2 onto the laptop in real time.

I might be able to help some though. Assuming you are using your v2 hooked up to the lap top, open the scan file, click on the green connect icon on the upper left corner, click PID's, select the ones you want, and then click on the Data tab. Then go down to the center bottom of the page and click on the circle tab that says start monitoring real time. Hope that helps some.

Using just the V2 sounds like a better option to me but I don't care which way I do it. Got to go grab my laptop and give it another try. Can someone tell me which PIDs I should use.

Ok...

we're going to take it as though you are logging via laptop, alright?
I'm doing this from memory, so if I'm wrong someone speak up please!

1. open the efilive scan tool.
2. goto File - Select Controller (and then select your controller - Custom you'll be LBZ Dave you'll be LMM). Plug the V2 in the truck and into the computer.
3. Now, goto the tab that says "PIDs"
4. Dave, since I'm familiar with your 'turbo bark' thread I'm going to select a few PIDs that may help...
Log:
Absolute Throttle Position
Desired Turbo Boost
Turbo Boost Pressure
Desired Turbo Vane Position
Turbo Vane Position

Just double click them so the icon (the speedometer thing on the left) goes black - that means it's selected.
5. Now that you have selected the PID's goto "Data" tab
6. You should see what you selected under the PID tab now that you are in the data tab with values.
7. Here you're going to start your log... look at the RED button on the bottom of the page... Press that, it will initiate and should start recording your log.

When done, press the stop button and it will ask you to save it...give it a file name and you're done.

To play back the log, press "Play" and watch the values.

I'm going to post my PID list I commonly use, and the dashboard file hoping that will help you a bit - there's alot of data, but, change it as you see fit.

When I have more time I'll try to explain how to use the V2 for logging, it to me is easier.

I really appreciate your help Jason. I only have internet in the house so I'm going outside to try your logging now with your list.

My avg were -1.12 for a low and +1.12 for a high, I'm assuming that's good for idle. These are my new 60 over injectors.

I'm glad you got it figured out!! It's intimidating at first!
I think this thread will help other people also, I'm not the only dummy.;)
Bed time reading:baby:

Reading that makes more sence after I got the logging to work, Thanks

Yes, those are good balance rates, GM says + or - 4 is within spec. did you check them with the truck in drive or just in park? Where did you get your injectors from?
