For 2010 any vehicle running 10.99 or quicker is required to have an "NHRA accepted" locking type transmission dipstick.

Does anybody know what "NHRA accepted" means or where to get an Allison dipstick that meets that criteria? Is an older style Allison dipstick with the locking deal okay?

Thanks

I remember driving over some trans. fluid at the track in Carlsbad about 15 years ago, I didn't think it was too funny;)

I was working on jaredduramaxs truck on the return road one night trying to get it out of the way when his tranny gave up and wouldnt move. We were close to the guard rail and a rail car made pass and blew a tranny line which coated his slicks and put him into the guard rail where we working luckily he just side swiped it and not head on. The track should have never let him run until we were out of the way but somehow they couldnt see us pushing. Im glad I had a spare set of underwear in the truck.:(

I have a factory locking dipstick from a LB7. I've talked to a few tech guys about it and a welded ring on the tube and a zip tie between the tube and dipstick is hard to argue with.
