LMM: LMM tune log

So I picked up my LMM about 2 months ago, and the terrible fuel mileage is killing me. I would like to do a DPF delete, but I have a 100k bumper to bumper warranty and lifetime powertrain warranty that I dont want to lose. From what I read, the LMM keeps a tune log of when the ECM was flashed, and even if I get a spare ECM to tune, the TCM still records max HP and TQ, which will tell the dealer on me. My question is, is there any way to tune a LMM that is untraceable? If not, is anyone seeing any gains from adding a CAI and filter back exhaust to an otherwise stock LMM?

Unless something has changed recently, they can tell its been tuned one way or another...

I work there....I'm the diesel guy. The only time the dealer cares about checking for tunes is if the trans breaks, pistons crack etc. Then they want cal files pulled and checked against what was factory. I

My dealer never said a word about my LMM. I had a few little things done to it under warranty with zero questions. Of course I didn't try to get my trans warrantied...:spit:

Your not going to gain much with exhaust.

My lmm was getting 17 hi way 8-9 towing 14,000 lb 5th wheel.

Cat removed
Egr blocked off.
4" exhaust from down pipe to the muffler, stock muffler and tail pipe.
5 selectable tunes from idaho rob.


Now 20.5 mpg hi way 12-13 towing

I just can't stand the thought of throwing away a LIFETIME powertrain warranty. The dealer has been a friend of the family for 30 years and they've always treated us right, so I know they'll stand behind it too.

I'm only getting about 16 hwy, 14 in town, but mines a cc/lb drw with 40k miles

They can look at how many times it has regenerated and tell, so dont think swaping ecm and tcm will help...

It boils down to if you want the lmm to be happy your going to have to for go the warranty.

BTW is this lifetime powertrain warranty a purchased item you pay for?

The bumper to bumper I paid for, the lifetime they give on all new and used vehicles (that qualify) they sell.

Sounds like I'll just be leaving it alone. I'll have the LB7 swapped into my 85 soon enough
