so cal
why would you want to do tht? just curious. I think you would pretty much have to use lly heads injectors and what not for it to all hook up

If you're electronicly savvy, you MIGHT be able to make an LBZ ECM/TCM/Engine/Transmission work in an older truck, since they only use GMLAN for the ECM/TCM/GPCM comms, and Class2 for everything else like the LB7/LLY. Problem with the LMM is the ECM and TCM use High speed and low speed GMLAN, No Class2, so you'd either have to swap ALL the electronics, get some kind of bridge to convert low speed GMLAN to class2 (if such a thing even exists), or like slowlmm said, swap everything to the LLY parts, unless you did manage to get the LBZ electronics to work, in which case the LBZ ECM MIGHT be able to run the LMM hardware....

Glow plugs are the same, injectors are slightly bigger (.020").

If you remove the front cover, grind off one tooth off the reluctor, use a bigger o-ring on the LLY injector bodies, you can bolt the LMM in as far as I can tell. You would need to use the LLY engine harness, computer, injector controller, and might have to "stretch" the boost sensor wiring.

In your opinion what effect would rail pressue do to this

What I was thinking was chances of leaking past O'Ring ???????

The O-ring is to center the body in the head and stop dirt from collecting in the bottom of the injector bores. It neither holds cylinder or fuel pressure in, and the engine will run fine (leak free) without them.

You CANNOT put LBZ/LMM injectors into an LLY head though. Too big.
