LMM or LML engine hrs.?

Can they be accessed through the DIC? They are wanting to start doing our oil changes off of hrs instead of miles since our trucks idle so much. Since they are base models, they don't have a DIC, only the button on the instrument cluster. I was wondering if anyone has added the DIC from LMC Truck and will it show hrs? A guy I work with added one to his gasser and it does. They took one of our trucks to a dealership and hooked it to a scan tool and said it wouldn't show engine hrs. I was planning on getting a DIC anyway, but if Halliburton will buy, it will be even better.:woott:

My LT trim LMM has engine hours in the DIC. I don't know about the DIC you mentioned from LMC Truck though.

It says it does. I just find it hard to believe that you can see engine hrs with a scan tool

On my truck you just press the odometer button on the cluster a couple times and scroll through trip odometer, odometer, and engine hours. I dont have steering wheel controlls.

On my gasser if you pushed and held the odometer button for a while with the key off it would show hours I believe.

This is on my 11 LML, not my LBZ. I can see hrs on the LBZ, but the company I work for is wanting to see hrs on these new trucks.

I have not tried it on a 11 or 12 model but, it works on the previous models that do not have a dic. You have to hold it for a while.

On the lmm you can just buy the dic buttons, remove the trim piece and plug em in and voila you have all the controls you normally do with a dic equipped truck. Id think the lml would be the same since Its the same interior.

I'm sure it will. If it does on trucks with dic controls then it should once you add the buttons. My lmm did so I duno why it wouldn't
