Guys,
Just tuned a 2010 LMM for my dentist yesterday (cool dentist :thumb. Helped him remove DPF and put full 4" MBRP. Basically looking for better mileage and driveability. Installed a DSP2 with about a 50 hp fun tune and the DSP side completely stock. Everything went well until later in the day he was getting some black smoke on startup and rough idle. I'm assuming it is the EGR. Do you guys normally leave it enabled when no blocker plate is installed? Do you disable completely or leave it enabled and set the parameters so it never operates?
Or is a blocker plate a must?
And just to clarify, he is not a "customer". Just trying to help a guy out and this is a good example of why I don't like to tune and monkey with these trucks as often as I used to.
Thanks,
Ed
