EFI Table (parameters) B0701

Adjust the idle speed up to like 1k RPM when ECT is at 68* or 46*.

Think it will work, then drop to normal temp when it gets just over that?

I'm gonna try tomorrow if you guys thin it wont cause a serious issue, lol.

should be fine, unless you fire the truck up when it's cold and want to throw it in gear and it doesn't idle down, might be a little bit harsh....That's the only problem I could think of

Yeah it won't drop until it reaches that temp. Sure wish we had DSP......

yea the problem is that the PTO parameters are in the BCM so for now its TECHII to set it up
some where i have the steps needed for the TECHII in order to set up the factory PTO idle prity simple to program and if you go on to GM UPFITERS you find all the instructions to add the PTO enable switch
( one of my upgrades that hastent been completed yet lol)

The tunes other than the base tune on DSP tunes don't have idle tables. You could put set your idle to 1000 on a tune, log the mm3 of main flow rate, then use that amount in your 0% row of thottle based injection quantity table (LB7/LLY) or torque based fuel table (LBZ/LMM) from 1000 RPM and under in one of the DSP5 postitions so that you are just giving it enough fuel to hold that RPM.

But yes adjusting it for the temperature range that you want to raise the idle would work but would make it hard to drive while the idle is bumped up so I would only raise it up to 46* to help raise it up on those cold mornings while still allowing you to hop in and throw it in gear and baby it until it warms up the rest of the way.

So it could be done then?

Larry, give it a whirl and report back.
Please:D

Still doesn't help us LBZ LMM guys but it would help the rest of y'all if it worked-unless you guys already figured out how to do it another way. I believe Simon does something like this with his LLY for warm up in the mornings.

LLYs have an elevated idle feature that we can adjust the parameters of with EFI Live and disable/enable through the DIC. It drops off as soon as we touch the brake to put it in gear. On top of that we can wire a switch to a pin on the ECM and use the PTO parameters to create a high idle switch.

update!!!!

well i got it to work. & adjusted the parameters to 950 rpm at the cold temps up to 133 ECT temp (went high so i can see the changes) id say it only needs to be some where around 50 degrees. anyway it started and went right to 950 rpm. the funny thing was, is there was no sudden drop of rpm at 133 degrees. it slowly droped to the stock setting as it got sloser. there was no need to smooth out the tange it did it on it own.

All values between cells are linearly blended :), that's the beauty of the code.

Glad you got it,

One of the things we can adjust on the LLY high idle is the increments (in RPMs per second) that the idle will raise from normal to high idle - but when it reaches the temp you set it for it drops as if you were holding the throttle then let off, no blending.

Cool that your test worked out - thanks for sharing.
