LMM Forced Regen

[EFI Support]

With the Beta release of DVT's (Bi-Directional controls), we released forced regeneration functions for those of you who are still running DPF on your LMM.

Has anyone tested this out?

If you haven't yet upgraded and wish to; you'll need to install the latest BBL Beta software release found http://forum.efilive.com/forumdisplay.php?f=69.

If you add any fuel to a LMM file it will clog the DPF filter pretty quick Simon. Atleast in my experience it did. Then you have to take it to the dealer to have them force a regen on the truck. Not to mention the ability the dealer has now to detect any screwing with the ecm and tell you your warranty is now void for doing so.

I have a good source telling me that the LMM guy's will be screwed if they try and bring there trucks in for engine work.

I saw that Ben. But sometimes it takes it coming from the horses mouth to believe it.
He's a serv manager and informed me that no LMM's will get engine serv without checking the ecm first.
GM has lost there ass on diesel warranty work, not that I contributed to it or nothing

I just assumed they would only dig deep if major engine failure occured...

Before you take your LMM in for warranty work, force a regen so when they look at the ECM it doesn't say if was 26,000 miles since your last regen.

Good point, but any engine related problem according to my friend must be diagnosed starting with an ecm scan, now at the top of the list. He said GM has never cracked down so hard on diesel engines.. A spare stock lmm ecm sure would be some good advice for all you lmm'ers. But then again without a tech 2 you would never know if it has been programed or not.

The software itself is stable. The time consuming part is now going to be writing "proper" documentation and a "nice" interface to get it all to hang together. ATM guys using Beta are editing text files to get certain functions operational and this isn't something we want to do with a public release.

Our solution is going through Beta. The couple of attempts we've made haven't had the desired result, and working from a distance has it's drawbacks. Presently waiting for some 08 LMM test ECM's to arrive in Australia.
