I've thinking about selling the LBZ and picking up an LML. I really like the 2014 Denali's however I do like the '15 Denali's too.
I'm kinda hesitating because:
I love my LBZ, it's paid off, basically have it done the way I want it minus my twin kit being installed.
With a new truck I'd have to start all over with modifications. Want do a complete delete but still need to pass inspections (or register the truck in another state). Have payments.

I have been doing a lot of reading everyday until my eyes bleed about the LML trucks.

Dudes with LML's.
What are your pros and cons about the truck and engine?
Do you guys like the '14 body style or the newest body style?

If it was me I would keep your lbz. I regret selling my first lb7 and my lbz everyday

I've got 167k miles on my lml and it's been a great truck but I've been wanting a new one simply for the new style exterior/interior.. They are supposedly quieter inside and more comfortable with more options so that's what I'd recommend if you go ahead with getting an lml..

I love my LBZ but there is no comparison to my high country. Everything is nicer, smoother ride, better interior, more creature comforts, and they really are MUCH quieter on the inside than even the 07-14 style trucks. After driving my LML, my LBZ sounds like an old powerstroke going down the road. My only complaint on my LML is the power, but it is pretty respectable for a stock truck. I'd say go for the Lml. You won't regret it!:thumb:

I say keep your truck. Buy a LML if you have the funds without selling your truck. You will definitely regret it few years later after selling your LBZ, with all that work and fun you had with it, you won't get that back. I'm in the same boat as you are, I would like the 15' denali but hate the payments. It'll take you forever to pay off that truck, considering that the newer trucks are more expensive to pick up than what we paid for our 06.

But that is all up to you. Do what you feel is best.

I've owned every model but an lly. Hands down the 15 LML beats them all in power, trans shift quality, suspension, ride quality, interior and load handling ability. Plus, they look incredible when done right. I had a good friend tell me yesterday that my 15 is the best looking truck I've ever owned. Made me forget how much I spent on it. Haha...

Pros would be steering improvements, load stability, ride qualities, interior improvements and stock potential. Cons would be average fuel economy, torque convertor and tranny characteristics when tuned with stock tranny components. It is about 800 to 1000 lbs heavier than classic designs. If you tune it, put lift pump, intake nd exhaust on it you will be satisfied with it overall.

I picked up a used 13 lml ltz dually a few months ago to tow my lmm around and make it more a dedicated sled puller. I love my lml so far. It might jist be me but my 13 seems a lot more confort able them my 08 only difference is my lml has a sunroof and air conditioned seats. Power wise it's all stock. But I added a 5" zone lift and right now I have 295/70r17's on it till I get the more for some 20's and a set of 35x12.5's. I might delete it someday and want to do a cp3 swap. But it's definitely gonna get a muffler put back on when it's deleted. I've grown to enjoy being able to talk to people inside the cab.

I really wanted a 16 when I bought it. But with no trade and my lml was a good deal I was looking at 20k difference between a 13 ltz and a 16 high country. So I jumped on the 13 since I also needed a trailer..

I had a 15. The tall bed sides are the biggest reason I went back to a 06. Pulling my 5th wheel was a pain cause of how close it was. Hated the carpet fender liners, thin sheet metal and the frame tar.
I did like the ride, suspension, looks and the new style mirrors.

Both have there ups and downs. I personally think the epa is not done with us yet. I would hate having to drive a stock lml.

I'm in the same boat. Honestly if my truck wasn't so heavily modded I would trade it in on a new one. dealer is offering me $3k less than I originally paid for my truck when I bought it in 2010. if it wasn't for the 10k+ in mods it would be gone.

As it is, I'll prolly keep it forever

Thanks for the replies. I've been thinking hard. I could afford to keep my truck and pick up a new one. But I just don't want my LBZ to be sitting and looking lonely and betrayed in the driveway. With that I don't want to spend 55k+ for a truck, have buyers remorse and just not like the truck and it sit.

I definitely want and like the newer creature comforts the newer trucks offer. Kinda need a crew cab, little dude is getting bigger and the ext cab is getting small.

If I do pull the trigger on a new rig. I plan on doing full deletes, exhaust, tuning, lift pump, steering and trans work. Maybe a Cognito level kit or 2-4" lift, either way the truck will get new shocks and upper control arms. Might eventually run an s472 as a single or s475 over stock.

There's two kinds of people, those who want the latest and greatest and are never happy and those who hold onto a truck for a long time and have a hard time selling it and regret it everyday afterwards. I'm the later, so you'll never see me in an lml.

That being said, they're pretty nice inside

See if the dealer will let you scoot around in an lml over the week end, see if it helps you put it in perspective more as to what you want.

I did pretty much what he suggested last week and spent around 6500 for just parts. Can't imagine what it would all cost if someone else did the work.

I like my LLY but will always have the want for a newer truck. Every time i see an LML around town, it makes me want one even more....but then I think about having that big payment and realize im happy with my LLY
