Hey guys. As ive said before this is my first time owning a diesel and ive heard a few tips and tricks from friends but I dont know who to listen to or try so I figured id come to u experts here. I live in west virgina and we just got hit by hurricane sandy. In my yard alone there was about 4ft of snow. So needless to say the ol' duramax didnt move for a while. The temperature stayed around 30 degrees. So it really wasnt that bad on it I dont guess. But ive heard to help out in these lower temperatures u could add a little kerosene when you fuel up. I wouldnt know how much or even if I should do that. And that truck has never been plugged up. Do you reccomend I do that?

i dont think its a good idea to do that.... however, i dont feel you will have a problem starting your truck... however, some guys like to turn the glow plugs on and off a few times..... I believe that the duramax is built so will start with out and help from heat to -20*

Ok, thank ya. I did actually start the truck a few times to charge my cellphone since power was out. It didnt seem to have any problems starting. I just noticed it took the plugs slightly longer to warm up.
