Just checking to see what other people are getting for oil pressure on their LML's?
I bought my truck with 195K, probably a fair amount of that towing Id guess, and it had a bad head gasket. Did the HG's and have been testing the truck locally before I have to pull a trailer 600 miles each way through the mountains for work. So, today I hooked up my 7 foot interior height car hauler (things basically a parachute behind the truck) and went down the continental divide, picked up some light stuff and came back up.
With fresh Mobile1 5/40 and a mobile 1 filter I see 25PSI of oil pressure at idle and running about 1800 RPM's I'm seeing like 45 (this is on my edge monitor). Is this normal or are my mains already thinning out? Both numbers I have are with engine at full operating temp.
Thoughts on LML's towing ability. crazy good. I have a very good running LBZ and pulling the same trailer up the divide it hits 230˚ the fan kicks on and by that point the oils already thinned out enough drop my oil pressure too. Now, the LML only hit 195 and I left the cruise control at 70 for the entire grade. I normally have about 2500 pounds more in the trailer, but I don't think that made that much of a difference in the coolant temps.. I think the LML is just that good
