Lml no start issues

Helping a friend out. Looking at a 2011 lml, 179k miles on it.

Go to bump the key and have nothing , no click or nothing.

Cannot communicate with either ecm or tcm, no dash under the PRNDM1, stabilitrack and abs stuff on. Looking for a starting point. have a known good tcm laying around to swap out.

If anyone has any insight, it would be awesome!

TCM is definitely a good place to start.

But if I remember correctly you should be able to communicate with the ECM even with a bad TCM. So it’s also likely you have an ignition switch issue or just a blown fuse.

Tried swapping tcm out, same thing. I'll go throughout fuses now

Fuses all good! This is really weird to me, I'm going to look under the fuse block I think for some hungry mice findings

Just because it’s happened to me but did you know there’s also a fuse panel on the passenger side of the newer trucks?
Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe that started in ‘11
Otherwise I would start at the ignition like Iowa suggested :thumb:

Did you check the mega fuses?

You guys would never believe it, I tested all the fuses on this truck with a test light showing that was all good. Here's the super scary part, I still was having issues so i dug down deeper and actually separated the fuse block and I started seeing large amount of green build up. Turns out and in my theory that this fuse panel was submerged in battery acid. It was already at a shop, and the shop specializes in body work. Digging deeper into the front left of the truck. Seems it was in a accident at one point in time and the batter exploded into the fuse panel. I was pulling out a couple relays and the prongs were broken off and corroded on to the fuse box.

So, non the less a new one is coming and hopefully that will solve all the issues. Truck had some really weird things happening.

Just wrapped up a truck like this, No start issue. Interior lights and windows worked, along with alarm. Other than that it was dead, Ended up being the pass side ground cable. Good find on the fuse block!

Doesn't necessarily have to be an exploding battery to cause green stuff under the fuse box. My '07 when it was only a year old had the a/c quit working. It was the first time I had gone to use it after the winter. Turned out I had green stuff on the bottom of the fuse box that ruined the connection between the relay and the fuse for the a/c compressor. No idea why this happened. Got a new fuse box under warranty.
