My buddy bought a 2011 lml. He's wanting to do a dpf and egr delete I already have a v2 and a little knowledge of tuning. To rid the truck of codes after doing the deletes is it as simple as pulling the stock file and just disabling the egr/dpf?
Now I'm looking to keep stock power and everything just get rid of the CEL lights.
Is it more in depth than that? Will I need to make major changes to the tunes?
Thanks

AFAIK you need a stock file to work off as you can't pull the file from the ecm

you can't delete it without buying the delete tune pack from Kory tony or Ryan. and Idk even know if Tony will sell you a delete tune pack but they will for certain be locked and all you will be able to do is change between them. No modification at all. Efi Live has not given us access to the emissions part and the DTC list.

I didnt realize they were so locked down. Ive been so involved in my truck I haven't really researched anything on LMLs. So it lloks like i will just have to buy some tunes and do it that route. thanks guys

Go to tis2web wit hthe VIN number and get the segment numbers you need for the correct tune file. Go here and I uploaded most all of the 11-15 stock tune files(at least the ones that were on 4shared) http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/resources/categories/tuning-library.1/?prefix_id=5 . Then you will have the stock tune file. You can do emissions intact tuning then, or if you dig hard enough the info is out there for how to unlock the non US portions of the tuning to do deletes.IF you do attempt to do deletes, be ready to beat your head against the wall as LML tuning is nothing like previous models. In all honesty you're better off buying a tune from somebody who has it figured out than to try and learn yourself. I have the unlocked software, but after reading of others troubles with it I have no desire to try one.

Iv done about 5 by myself. It's definitely trial and error on how to kill codes and keep everything happy. Easier to buy a tune for you I'm sure. Everyone wants the "I wanna learn how" theory. But if you have to ask how, then you defeat the purpose of learning. Quite a few people are tuning lml now. Only some of the more involved use outside programs like win-ols to map tables efi doesn't, then import them in. If you just want to delete it....you need to vacation out of the U.S. :thumb:
