I have looked and looked for info on this and cant find definate information on this.
I plan on rebuilding my lmm turbo and swapping the wheels out for lly turbine wheel and compressor wheel.
The rebuild kit I'm looking at is a 360* thrust bearing but it says it will not work on lmm's with the full bore compressor wheel.
My question is will swapping to the lly wheels allow me to use this kit or is something completely different with the center sections on the lmm turbo and I can't use this rebuild kit or the lly turbo wheels? Thanks for the help guys, happy to join the community.

I am not 100% sure how the exhaust side works, but the compressor side is different size. Have to machine the LMM comp housing larger

I know the compressor housing is going to have to have to be machined and that the turbine wheel will work.
I'm just wondering if the only reason the rebuild kit for the lly and lbz turbo won't work on the lmm turbo is because of the full bore compressor wheel on the lmm, if this is the case it won't be an issue for me because I will be swapping to the regular lly compressor. It will be an issue for me if the centersection of the lmm turbo is different from the lly turbo because of the full bore compressor wheel.

Broviak advised me to stay with the 270 thrust and save my money. He told me he uses the 270 in all his builds.

Yes I did and LMM turbos are useless. 9 out of 10 times they are cracked anyways and the cart is completely different so you can't use parts from the early turbos in them. LLy-LBZ are normal compressor wheels with the hole in them and the turbine shaft goes all the way through it and threads are at the top of compressor wheel. LMM/LML is a boreless wheel so the the turbine is a stubbing and the threads are on the back of the compressor wheel so the back plate and bearing kit is completely different. Hope this helps!

Yes this completely helps answer my questions, only question I have left though is can I put the 10 blade turbine wheel in this centersection with the lly compressor? And why would I stay away from a 360* thrust bearing if I'm rebuilding it anyways? I don't understand why you recommend a 270. Also what cracks on these turbos?

Yes I sell the 10blade turbine for the lly drop in. I don't use the 360* thrust because I haven't seen the need for it honestly. I've been building these turbos since 2006 and usually if you eat a thrust up quickly then you are leaning on the turbo too hard and need to change something in the setup. I'm not saying don't use one, I'm just saying that I don't feel it is worth the extra money for it. To each his own you know.

Thanks for the advice mark, is there any difference between the 6.0 10 blade turbine and the lly 10 blade turbine? I read on a powerstroke forum that the 6.0 10 blade is a bit larger? Would any machining to the turbine housing have to be done with either?
