I am going to be putting new head gaskets in my truck and I'd like to do a few things that will help especially lower the egts I've heard many different things involving the tmp and I dont know what way to go with is it true that the best option is to go with the stock lbz mp or is it worth buying an aftermarket one and it so what have people used for an aftermarket tmp any input would be great thanks

Save yourself hundreds and get an LBZ MP. I felt a big difference in throttle response and sounds nice with an intake. Seemed to lower my egt a bit. I did the PCV reroute at the same time. I couldn't believe the size difference between the 2. Hope this helps :thumb:

For under $100 the lbz MP is the way to go, I havent seen proff that the AFE piece is better. Many others have had luck with the Kodiak MP also.

I would go with the lbz mp otherwise if you want to spend the cash there is the AFE mouth piece at 245 ? or 265? And i believe S@B intakes makes 1 as well in the same price range. My partner just told me 2 nights ago to sell his if you interested 80 shiped for an lbz mp.

The S&B you can get for $199 according to my diesel power magazine add. You can have that on your stock intake or buy the S&B to match it. With the LBZ mouthpiece you can get from a dealership or others for around $100. But you'll have to cut your stock intake to fit it or buy an LBZ intake and it'll bolt right up.
