2001 doesn't have the same electrical system as the 03+ models but it can be done. It's a pain to do compared to the 03/04 as it's not plu and play.

The other option is to continue to use the same LB7 ECM and FICM and swap the heads and use the LLY injectors. Much easier but can still be tricky to tune correctly

If you keep all your same electrical, computers, etc then you can swap in any LB7 engine. There will be a few things you will need to swap over from your old engine to the new such as the oil pressure sensor.

This is an easy plug n play swap with the right modified Lly harness and Lly tune.
You keep all your 01/02 dash/truck and tcm. Combined with the Lly ecm, ficm, vgt and electronic egr.
Runs like a factory 01/02 Lly pickup.
