I have a shop truck with 160k completly stock. Truck sits sometimes for three of four days with no use. About a month ago it started to surge at idle. I new it was only time till regulator needed repaired. Then a week ago it became hard to start 4-6 seconds and then would start. This happened hot or cold same symptoms. Drove 20 min to the store and came out and would not start. Poped hood primed it and ran for 3-5 seconds. I tare into it to replace regulator the torx bolt dont come out of the cp3 so I pull the cp3. I put a low mile lb7 cp3 with a lly regulator. Finish up and no fuel pressure 230 psi on efi log. next step I shimmed the fuel rail. No differance. Then I pressurize the tank 5-10psi and realize there is a leak at the top of the tank. Replace the sending unit and now it will build pressure KINDA... If I prime the $hit out of it it will start fuel pressure will read 5k for 6=8 seconds then start to fall then the truck stalls. If I continue to prime while it starts it will stay running. I even got fuel pressure to read 11k with me priming it. No codes. Ideas? Thanks

sounds like its time for an airdog with filters mounted on the frame rail and delete the factory fuel filter housing altogher. You should have enough extra fuel line with the airdog kit to make a jumper on the motor. This way the truck becomes easier to service as the filters are on the frame rail and you have the lift pump to make sure the truck sees the correct pressure.
