Been thinking about building my motor...although at the moment there is no real need to I just have seen too many people lately windowing blocks and kind of making me want to do some preventative maintenance. :D Just wanted to get opinions and thoughts on the set up. I'm looking for 750-850 hp out of a street driven truck and to put my CCLB into the 11s. If anyone has any advice on set up and turbo let me know. What I'm looking at so far is 60% overs, SoCal Stage 1 heads, head/main studs, Carrillos, cut/coated pistons, dual CP3s, keyed crank and cam and damper and I think that's it. Let me know on turbo setup...looking towards a S475 or GTX4202...any advice/feedback let me know. Thanks guys.

You just get into the 12's now you want to go all out huh?:D Although i have not yet driven my truck the S475 is a great option. Personally i have decided to not go with ported heads to me it is not worth 2,000$ for Stage 1's as mid 11's have been done without any head work. I am going to reuse my stock pistons as well just have them cut and coated.

Haha..I know speed is addictive isn't Nick? Just some options I'm thinking over...now entirely sure what I want to do with it. Just would be afraid of windowing the block and REALLY being in deep doo doo. I'll be reusing my stockers cut and coated and wasn't sure if the ported stage 1 heads were worth the money. Just looking for input ya know? Good meeting ya btw

Tig/Mig the water pump, pin the oil pump, bolt motor mounts or by a set of merchants mounts. Oh! and buy another motor to build If its your DD;) Everything cost twice as much and takes twice as long as planned:rolleyes::D

Thanks man....have to keep the water pump/oil pump thing in mind...considering since I'm close just having Guy at SoCal build mine. But I still have to pull it and reinstall it...just not too sure about building it in my garage...I'd love to but at the same time would be afraid to F something up

Yup I hear ya;) I pulled mine down to a short block and brought it to the machine shop for all the internal work. Once done, my buisness partner and myself tackled the reasembly 3 weeks later:thumb: Another thing to add to the list is balancing, that seemed to be the biggest hold up on my build. But if you are having Guy do the work, I dont believe you will need a to do list as he has plenty of these things under his belt:D:thumb:

Yup yup and I figured since I'm a reasonable distance to his shop I may as well let him do it cause like you said he knows what he's doing :) just not sure whether it's worth the money to just lose my mind and go with a 7.1L stroker

CA smog laws?

Pfffttt
True, but that's why my truck is still registered in AZ, I just don't want to deal with their $#*^.
Hmm...didn't think about that lol...anyone have a mod friendly smog shop?
Lol, the one that did my Dad's truck would probably pass it, not only because he's (somewhat) mod friendly, but because he's an idiot. He wouldn't know the difference between an aftermarket single and a stock single. That, plus the fact that he admits to passing trucks with tuners, and I think you'd be set. :thumb:

If I ever do register my truck in CA, it's going through him.

If SMOG is a problem then I recommend keeping your Cheetah and twinning it with an S480... when the time coms it should be pretty easy to remove the primary turbo vs. R&Ring a big single then stock then back to big single

That's a pretty good point...Only person I've seen twin a Cheetah is LarryJewell but haven't heard anything in the way of track times/HP #s
