LLY Magnaflow & Downpipe Question

I just installed a MagnaFlow system in my truck it was a PIA since its a long bed and they don't make a system for a LB. Don't Ask miscommunication between me and my supplier. Didn't know they didn't make one for a LB until I had my OEM exhaust out and wasn't going to reinstall it. For me it was easier to make the MF work than to send it back and get one made for a LB.

So my question is does the OEM down pipe restrict the exhaust flow to the point that I wasted my $ doing this without changing the downpipe? It seems between the OEM down pipe and MF's muffler being downsized to about 2.5 inches internally that maybe I am not really getting the benefit I was looking for which is better mpg and lower egt.

Should I sell this system and get a system with a downpipe that would be less restrictive or is there still mpg and egt benefits from an exhaust using the OEM downpipe?

Call up McRat Racing and order a dimond eye DP. I don't belive there are any exhausts out there that come with a downpipe.

Keep the system and get the Diamond eye dp, i have it on my 06 with the same exhaust as you and it dropped my EGT's by around 100 degrees and help with spool up in my opinion. we have them if you are interested, let me know if I can help.

Same here. The DP was a PIA to get out but worth it in the end.
