I pulled with my truck last weekend and at the end of each run the truck pushed a small amount of steam from the overflow. I'm assuming this means at least one of my headgaskets are on the way out. I don't have any issue with it burning coolant at the dragstrip or daily driving. Basically I'm curious to know if there is any risk to continuing running the stock gaskets until they become a bigger problem or could that risk other parts? Also what are people normally paying for labor to do studs?

Depends on your area I'd say 3200-4000 for everything. If remember book time is somewhere around 30 hrs

I'm not sure I need them right away. I just know I need to start preparing myself for them haha. I was planning on talking to him this week anyways. He is interested in my stock charger

I did it last year and it took about 32 hours leaving the motor in the truck, If your going to do rods i would look for a spare block and build it so your rig wont be down. It doesnt sound like its leaking that bad, mine would push a ton of coolant out anything above 6 lbs of boost..

I'm not nearly that bad. Mine was only after a couble 40psi trips down the pulling track at 4k rpms. Only reason I would prefer to build my motor is the low miles. Might be pricey to find an lly with less than 80k. Although I suppose I could reuse my heads and everything and I'd replace all the bearings while the crank was out anyways
