St Joe Diesel finished yesterday. ARP head studs, Grade C head gaskets, Garrett Power Stage 2, AFE mouthpiece, MBRP downpipe, among other things.

I still use the old PPE Hot + 2 ET programmer, and set it on Level 7 just to see how it does. Spool up is a lot faster than I was expecting, a lot of the smoke is cleared up, and it will roast the tires when I stomp on it at 35 mph. I still need to play with the other tunes, and may end up going EFI Live (as I probably should have years ago).

Fun stuff!

Hey Tom! Nice to hear from you!

No, I've had it for almost 10 years now. Life threw a few curve balls over the past few years, and I have not been able to be as active on the diesel scene as I once was.

There are much better shops around than SJD. I dealt with them in a past and got completely screwed. I would go over your bill very carefully and see what all they charged you for. Maybe you have better luck, but most don't. I suggest treading lightly with them.

When it comes to efi don't mess with SJD(last I knew they didn't have a tuner), get someone who is reputable. I've done and redone a lot to my truck. If only I had the knowledge that I do now, I could have saved myself a ton of money.......

Wow. I'm sorry to hear that your experience was not a good one.

I first used SJD several years ago. They correctly diagnosed and corrected a transmission problem on a supposedly "built" transmission that I had a well known guy in Michigan build for me. I have been pleased with that result, and am optimistic that this latest work will be of similar quality. I told them exactly what I wanted this go round, and the billing is detailed and consistent with what I had done.

Thanks for your good advice. What shop in the KC area do you like?

I've heard good things about Smokin Diesel. I think that's thier name. They are south of kc. There is also DPE in savanah, mo. They are always at the farm shows.

As for me I get a 30 pack and a couple buddies and do all my own stuff. Best way to learn is to just do it.
