Started smelling diesel yesterday, Found the return line was popped off of the #1 injector, tapped it back in, replaced clip, took it for a drive, got back and there was diesel just pouring out of between where the return line plugs on to the plastic t in the top of the injector.

Pretty major leak. First I was thinking I broke the little plastic fitting when I tapped it back in, but it seems like a lot of fuel... Is that normal or

Is there something else (like a bad injector) going on here that caused the return line to pop off in the first place?

forgot to mention that I just finished doing the head gaskets a couple hundred miles ago, so had all the injectors out, and put new return lines on, possible that i just didnt get the clip in right or something

yeah, not sure why I cheaped out on the return lines. I bucked up for the good stuff on everything else.

ebay said they had sold like 600 sets of them, and the reviews on there were all ok, but I should have known.

Which return lines would you suggest (other than crazy outrageously priced ones from the dealer)?

Yes those. The OEM Bosch lines. Because, well, idk, they actually work....

Buy them from Merchant automotive. He’s got the best price on them.

OK, I see them now, first time I looked on merchant I just saw the yellow ones.

Those black ones don't say bosch in the description, but look just like the originals... and the price isn't too bad. Are those the ones you're talking about?I think the dealers wanted like 3x that much.

Thanks for the help. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Yes they are the same as what you would buy from GM. They are the only ones I will use. I’ve tried them all. The yellow ones are absolute garbage.
