Did you over rev it or did it run away Matt?

Only other way I know is if you sheered the pin in the cam gear and it slipped position.

Id agree. 3rd gear pulling we have hit 3800-4 pretty easy. 3500 wouldnt be enough room.to i know alot of guys that hit 38-4000.

I set mine to 4400, is that too high for stock valves with heavy springs? Not that its been that high for very long.

Thats insane....I wouldn't do it on a stock valve train....especially if you havent ever even adjusted the valves.

38-4000 isnt too bad....no way I'd go to 4400 on em.

Valve float is a killer.

I have 110# valvesprings. Last pull I ran up to 3940 in 3rd gear on the pulling track. I don't run that high, just set a limit incase I broke an input shaft or something.

Almost every person i know that pulls doesnt keep the stock rev limit. Cause most of the time if u have the power, the truck speed gets up there and the gears run out and u bounce off the limiter. Thats why most try and run 33s. I know some that bumped to 35s to help.

It is going to exceed that limiter pretty quick if you break something. I know what you are saying but the fuel is already there for it to keep revving.
