So I have been battling a hard surging/bucking issue at the top end of the track. I ended up checking the codes with my Tech2 and I am showing a bad Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor. The weird thing is it shows that on my last ignition cycle it passed but it must keep popping up.

My question is would a bad APPS cause surging/bucking at WOT at the end of the track? It also surges at low throttle occasionally but not at idle. The CP3 and FPR are basically brand new, fuel and air filters are new as well.

Yea in theory i would think it would. Really you'd have to see exactly how the pcm uses that input and for what. Obviously it uses it though for fueling. What i would do is log that pid or watch it and see if its dropping out. Sometimes scan tools wont pick up very fast sensor drop outs though. Thats when you need an oscilloscope. But my buddy's lmm gets an apps code but it doesnt affect anything on his truck. Maybe someone else can chime in.

And also what code is it because a code for the apps doesnt mean its bad, could be a wire grounding out or some sort of wiring issue. Usually if you get the connector pin out for the sensor with labels you can test its input and output

The two codes are P2140 and p2138. It looks like there are three pids for apps so ill log them all.
