Allison 5sp: Limp Mode P0735

OK so I know that my 5th gear ratio does not change in the blink of an eye.

So what am I looking at here. I have been in limp mode 4 times in the last year. 3 of them were while towing my boat up a grade at 60 mph and the last one was a few days ago after getting the new exhaust on. None of them stayed in limp mode for more that a few hours.

Just need some advice on what I should do at this point.

Your trans is hurt. Stock 5 speeds don't take well to added power.

I did not drive around in limp just took a few hours til it was out of limp

ok so trans is in need of some TLC any recommendations? is this a diy remove and replace? if so what do I need to watch for?
