I've always wondered why everyone uses 1/2 NPT fittings on their PPE pump!? Mine didn't ever accept NPT so i had to run out and get -AN fitting's.
Doesnt really bother me now because they look nice all anodized blue, matching the pump. It did however when i install it because i had already bought NPT fitting's, then had to bump up more cash for those very expensive fitting's.

Why is the AN more expensive than the NPT? Or is it just because you allready bought the NPT?

Because of the anodized blue ones is why it was more money would be my guess. Regular NPT vs JIC/AN is almost identical in price for the small stuff.

Thats weird. I was able to use 1/2 NPT fittings in my pump.

I just looked on summit racing a little bit and the price difference isnt too big between the two if your only buying a couple.

Well I used earl's plumbing fittings, the high dollar brand because that's what the local store had... I had to buy 2 Union's, 90* hose barb, and a straight hose barb VS. just two NPT fitting's that would do the job
