The only time I ruined my lift pump was when my truck gelled up. I had to let the truck run for awhile with 911 and forgot to bypass my pump and it burned up to the point it wouldn't move enough fuel to fuel a lawn mover.

I went thru 2 on my truck in -15deg-30deg weather. I sold one to a customer in AZ and his went out after two months. He is working with Dan to get it replaced........

WICKED DIESELS

you need more fuel
Until the actual manufacture Essex, implements an induction hardened shaft for the motor, the seals will continue to eat into the shaft, filling the motor with fuel and killing the bearings, brushes and armature. I have talked to them numerous times at Essex over the issues, as we used them in another form a while back. If you need a replacement seal use National 350435, the one we came up with when the supplied Viton seal failed. All the PPE pumps use this seal, which we discovered and informed Essesx of.

That is what mine did too. No more Edelbrock/PPE lift pumps for me.

I don't think they like the cold diesel very much. They seem to do fine in warmer climates.

I can recommend the FASS HPFP 150 pump. I have been running it for 3 years on 2 different trucks. It hasn't let me down once. It cost about twice as much as a PPE pump, but it has a lifetime warranty on it and a proven track record in the industry.

That's one thing I didn't test when I started using the Edelbrock pump, cold weather. After going through a Carter or two, and a Holley, I've been using the 1792 ever since and haven't had a failure on 3 trucks.

I started running these back in 2005, when Carter, Holley, and FASS were the options.

Anything about what we talked about during sema lift pump wise?
