Personally, a 9$ filter every 5,000-7,500 miles that is proven is all I need to know. Ive never trusted a "life time guarantee" before. Ask yourself if its worth a 5,000$ transmission.

My old man has always told me "Oil and Filters are Cheap (compared to fixing things)." I would have to agree. Thats why I said that thing kinda scares me.

Well maybe I was getting screwed. My '05 only got one filter change in 55 000 miles and that was $45 for the filter from the stealer and was the same price from Waterous Detroit Diesel Allison.

Maybe they came down in price since then. I need Simon to confirm this-he changes his filters and oil more than his socks!!

Fixed it for ya Kat ;)

0 miles but 26000km.;)
And yes Kat, I changed it at 15 000km in the dirt behind Simon's garage. And the filter was free from a Detroit Diesel engine course instructor that took pity on me when I whined about the price and gave me a free filter back in 2006:D for my '05. It never did make it on there though LOL!! The poor SOB that bought that truck I tell ya. Hope he bought the extended warranty!!

LOL it's all good Kat. It is midnight and all!!

It must be nice having a specialist at your beckoning to do tranny work in your backyard.

All we have up here is someone who does quality work at about the same caliber as Dr. Nick from the Simpson's!!

the spin ons are 8 dollars at waterous pan filter is 42.00 transynd is way cheaper there also

Dale I swear you never listen to me!

As for the spin on Listen to your Dad,IMO changeing filter is cheap insurance
i posted on DP about me changeing my filters early and there where a few people that thought i was being way to precautous

It helps me sleep at night that i change the spin on every oil change
