Life of an LBZ

Not sure where to post this question, but I thought that I would start here.

How many miles can be expected from a LBZ?

I have 257K on my '06 and have always done the maintenance myself except when it was back under warranty. Regular oil changes using synthetic and fuel filters, etc. Mild tune using EFI Live.

Is there a method to check compression through the glow plugs and if so what values are good and what is bad?

Are there other measures of health?

Have a new truck and will be selling the LBZ. Been a great truck, but I would like to objectively evaluate its mechanical condition and remaining life.

Best way to objectively evaluate is look at the maintenance history, look at the condition and consider the mileage and evaluate how it runs and drives.
Just cause it lasted that long for you doesn't mean the next guy that buys it and rat bags on it will get it to last 10 miles.

Compression test doesn't hurt though and you can use the glow plug holes to do this.
