Leveled up front dmaxes with 265's

Looking for pics of our trucks with a small crank up front to just level the truck and with stock 16" wheels with 265/70/16 all terrains or mud terrains......trying to see if 265's with alittle more aggressive tire will look good still on the truck or if i need to get 17" wheels and 285's! Not sure if a more aggressive AT or MT tire in 265 size will look better and actually add a half inch or so of height than the 265/70/16 Firestone all season sissy tires on it now :confused:

Usually there is no need to crank at all with a 265 but i know thats not what your asking but just throwing it out there.

I know. I have mine cranked but just wondering if 285's make it look that much better that its worth buying new wheels or if the 265's with a more aggressive tire will look just as good

I don't know how well you can see it on my truck in my profile pic, but I have the torsion bars turned up five full turns. I do it only in the winter because it gives me extra ground clearance with my snow plow on. I am not sure how that affects the camber and toe in. I have been told that the outsides of my tires will wear faster, but I am not sure if that is true.

Changing the ride height on a Dmax changes the toe-in and camber. Toe-in is easy to correct in your driveway, but camber is harder.

I put adjustable torsion bar keys in Casper to change the height, but then adjust the toe-in. Make sure you roll the truck back and forth before measuring to let the truck "settle" to correctly.

IMHO the 285's look alot better. I had a set of 265's on my 07 classic and now have 285's on my 06. I wont go back to a 265.

not to mention, your ride will suffer. specially if you have stock shocks up front

Here's a pic of mine with 265 silent armors. I recently had it aligned and the alignment tech assumed I would want it leveled since I had done that with some of my Chev's in the past. I hate it and will be setting it back to stock and re-aligning again. It rides like poo, and when I put a trailer on the front sits higher than the back and looks queer.

If your going to crank I say go 285 no matter what rim you have, I went 265 stock height but the look of the 285 is much better, especially when cranked up the gap in the wheel well is to much with a 265 IMHO

I had a set of Toyo A/T 285-70-17's and hated them, i needed to re-gear as at 60mph i was at 1450rpm LOL.

Went to 265/70/17's and love em. The wider look of the 285's was nice, but i've got a couple older guys that drive my truck on the farm and they aren't very tall so needed to keep it close to stock height. IMO the 285's just had too big of a damn sidewall and it looked ridiculous. If a tire company made a 285/55 or /60 in a load E i'd be sold.
