Got the v2 in the mail on Saturday. My buddy and I didn't put it down till Sunday night. We figured out how to makes dsp tunes, flash our trucks (lly and lbz), how to navigate the program pretty well and wrote a couple crappy tunes. I have a guy that's gonna tune my truck and teach my how to tune in the future. I am just looking for any tuning advice you guys can give me so I know as much about efi as possible before I see my tuner. Thanks

Go very slow. Took me a good two years to fully understand every single parameter and options available. I got jumpy and wrote some really bad tunes as well my first time out with it.

I hear ya. I was just wondering how to learn it all fast haha. I guess it'll just take time and practice.

Just practice I'd say. I know it pretty well now but I stay away from tuning my own truck not so much because of the compound turbo setup but because it is "pushing the limits" of a stock motor. Also I have more experience with LB7s and find them easier to tune than the LBZs and LMMs. I'd also look into Zac from Starlite Diesel and the books and classes that he offers. I bought his books awhile back and found them to be very helpful, and will be going to his class if it comes near me.

TX of course
It depends on your level of common sense. The class will get you there faster for sure. I wouldn't pay that much, but I'm a cheap ass. I'm self taught other then reading every tuning thread on here and DP. And other then part throttle shifting issues that I just couldn't work out on my big tune so Josh bailed me out.

If you take into count all the time I spent working regularly on my tuning I bet I have 6months - year into it. But at one point refining my mileage tune I was tracking the mileage for 2 weeks then making small changes. I tried about every train of thought there was when it came to mileage tuning.

I hear you on reading reading reading and reading more thats all i do i love it and being a cheap ass! I have ur mileage tune set as my base tune on my dsp tunes. Logged my race tune a bunch this weekend and im pretty happy with were im at for a rookie. 2800 pw, running 32psi out of the stock lbz charger, and holding 26k psi from 2nd gear when the tc locks till roughly 95ish. (on the stock tranny of course) Pretty pumped! Couldn't do it without Joshs timing calc and all the reading ive done from all you guys tuning in the past.
