I have a mysterious rattle under the back of my truck when Im on bumpy/washboard roads. I checked the spare tire thinking that might be it but no luck. Best I can tell is that the overload spring is hitting against the rest of the leaves on bumps. Anyone have any ideas? When I get into really bad roads its like a machine gun under there and even if I slow right down it still does it just alot slower. Should I try clamping the overload tight to the rest of the leaves?

There is a hole at either end of the overload with nothing in it ???? Should there be something there? After the end of the overload the rest of the leaves have the factory clamp with a plastic bushing type deal in there.

exactly! i went to 4 wheel parts and got some low profile bump stops and bolted them to my overload springs in the holes that are already there.

also, i noticed on my truck i have the 2.5" receiver with the 2" sleeve in it. that rattles a bit

Noise in rear

I have the same noise in my GMC. Mine is the springs like the others have said. I am missing the rear spring bumber. It really does rattle like there is something falling off! Jeff
