You'd have to ceramic coat it at the least, it also depends on the temp rating. If you can get it ceramic coated for a good price I would do it and probably install a turbo blanket to help keep the under hood temps down the most. If its more than you want to spend then I would just get a turbo blanket from Levi and you'll be set.

I'd honestly toss the heat shield and get a good high temp ceramic coating and then put one of levi's turbo blankets on, and if your super worried have him make you a dp blanket and get his up pipe blankets. I'm seriously debating it

Good catch on the downpipe and up pipe blankets, I really like the ones I got from him. :thumb:

Dude levi's blankets are legit. After they get hot they are still pliable and I was looking at them earlier tonight and found a post he said he put his hand on one from a sled puller after a pass and put his hand on the blanket and it was like warm clothes out of the dryer. That right there says they work

Did you say down pipe blanket, all snuggly and warm looking, I forgot how the OEM downpipe heat shield covers part of the passenger up pipe, still have to order one from Levi. I also had him sew a blanket, actually a sleeve for my 3" hotside pipe, sure quieted things down in the cab, little if any turbo whistle now....Turbo blanket next, maybe...

His stuff is beyond amazing. On a side note the factory heat shields are garbage and I threw all mine away long before I got one of Levi's turbo blankets.

You won't be disappointed. It is the best way to go for insulation against heat.

I have run Levi's stuff before and it is top shelf quality. I just ordered some for my 3794 and S480.
