Hope this is in the right area, still a noob. I got some tunes comming from Tony at Moonshine and looking to add some new parts to my truck. Allready have a built trans from Suncoast, AD165 and modded pick up in tank, 4 inch exhaust, guages and modified my aiflter the way they show on the PPE site.

Still have stock bottom end and will for a couple more years. My truck is a 06 3500 dually CC/LB w/LBZ. This is a DD and i pull somewhat heavy loads any thing from 5000 to 15000 lbs. this is the only sports car I will ever have and like to treat it that way.

My question is should I go to a slightly modified cp3 pump and larger injectors or put my money into a different turbo, either a new single or maybe a twin with the stock one. Thanks for any advice. Fred

Buy a s475 over stock twin setup and some head studs. Just my opinion. Bigger sticks will shorten your bottom end lifespan and modified Cp3s are not as reliable

Look at HSP, SDP, or MPI twin kits

Thanks DBUSHLB7 for the input. Have been doing a lot of serching on twin kits and am torn between HSP and Whehrli. Any buddy have inputs on either one. I see Danville sells the HSP and are sponsors, but who sells the Whehrli here. Thanks Fred

You shouldn't need to worry about a modded cp3 or duals until your pushing past 600whp
After that you're better off building the engine first or risking living in the danger zone when using that kind of power.

There are lots of good twin kits out there:
HSP
SDP
Wherli
To name a few, I think SPD makes as solid and as well fitting kit as anyone and comes in a bit cheaper than some of the competition, I wouldn't hesitate to look there for your needs

X2 about an S475 over the stocker, it'll push you past the limits of the cp3 and your engine, tow like a boss and spool like a champ

I'm running Moonshine too.

I'd just put a twin kit on, then add some bigger injectors to lower the pulse width. I have a bigger twin kit than the others recommended above and have 60% over injectors on a completely stock engine. It's not bullet proof and only a matter of when it'll give.

As stated above buy a T6 s475/96 1.32ar and throw it over the stocker. No need for headstuds unless you blow a headgasket of course, a set of 30 or 40% injectors with this twin setup is very nice. Tony can dial in your injectors to where towing shouldn't be a problem but then when your ready to have some fun your pulsewidth and timing are still in check. It'll keep those lbz pistons happier:thumb: Im personally running the s475/stocker setup along with 40% injectors in my LLY and tow, race and DD it. I'm not easy on her at all. On its 3rd year with this setup.

Fred,

Most of the time guys retain the factory charger in the valley without upgrading. Depending on the amount of miles you have on the truck you could look into having it rebuilt. In most cases we use the box Borg cast S475 but you can upgrade to a billet charger.
