Well, the saga continues.... Got the oil pans and front cover off my LLY block and was going to swap the crank and cam reluctors.... well, SURPRISE! LBZ reluctor has four bolts, LLY has three. Thanks GM. My two options, near as I can tell, are to drill out the proper holes in the LBZ reluctor so it'll bolt up to the LLY oil pump drive gear, or find a LBZ oil pump drive gear. If I where to drill out the reluctor, I assume the alignment holes on the LBZ & LLY are the same (putting the gap in the same place relative to the keyway)?

The next one is the cam.... They appear to be identical... According to compnine's cross reference, the LBZ reluctor is only used in 2006 an up.... but they sure as heck look the same...

Any thoughts?

Guess I'll have to find a LBZ oil pump drive gear... How about the cam reluctor? Like I said, aside from the color (coating) and bolt placement, they look identical, unlike the crank reluctor.

Someone else will say if I'm wrong but cam wheel can be reused nothing different just need to swap the lower unit out.
