I have the chance to buy a lly that someone supposedly put in lbz injectors by accident and now he claims that they are stuck in the bores. I'm just wondering if they are really different because he claims that the repair shop told him that the valve covers would have to be broken off and the heads removed to get them out. I thought the lly and lbz injectors were really similiar. I am just trying to figure out how big of a deal this really is because he is willing to sell the truck fairly cheap because of the cost of the labor to do this and I was thinking of buying it for the engine and transmission if it was not to big of a deal to get fixed

I know for a fact a lbz injector code "number on top of injector" has to be programed into gpm and ecm on a lbz truck. thats about all i know .

They are very similar, the LBZ's have a little step on the body. Not sure how they must have forced them in and they can't come out. I also think they use lower voltage?

Didnt Pat state the size difference once? I seem to remember he said youd have to machine the LBZ injectors slightly to get them to fit.

his mechanic said that he seen the marks on top of the injectors where they forced them in. I was just wondering if I could get them out without pulling the head. He is tired of the truck and I think I can get it for about 2k Its a lly with 190k on it. If its not to big a deal it would make a great daily driver for my wife:thumb:

Yeah, you need to just buy the dang thing. You can get some good used heads for cheap enough then buy some injectors and be good to go, even in a 2wd truck. That's assuming you do the work yourself and have to pay a shop to do it.

Around here, that's probably a $10K truck since it's 2wd. So if you put a few grand in it, you'd still make double your money back most likely or, like you said, have a cheap DD for the wifey.
