I was wondering what setups everyone is running for a cold intercooler pipe at higher boost/hp levels with an aftermarket intercooler and y bridge? I have the pipe that connects to the bridge but I am trying to decide what to use between that pipe and the intercooler? Mishimoto sells a cold side kit but that looks more like a stock bolt up replacement?
The OEM necks down from 3-1/4" at the intercooler to 2-3/4" then back to 3-1/4" just before the grid heater. I found a some Mishimoto LBZ/LMM fittings on craigslist for $150.00.
I think the guy had a boost leak as I found a nicked O-ring when the local shop installed them and do not neck down like the OEM fittings. I also gutted the grid heated not sure if it helped any but mine has to "look" stock for emissions, all looks no worky.
Could not tell if it made much difference as I also installed a hotside pipe and did a few other things at one time.
Their are some dyno video's EDP posted last year on a 300,000 mile stock duramax, the best gains were from a set of larger up pipes only...
Videos..
If I look I'll find them and I did......
