Concerning LB7 performance, what would happen if you use an LB7 regulator on an LBZ CP3 compared to running the LBZ reg? Would you get more fuel flow without the annoying lope from using an LBZ reg? Or would nothing change at all?

The purpose of the modded FPR is to allow more fuel to flow to the CP3. There would be no point to installing the LBZ CP3 and still using the lame-o LB7 Reg. I would put in the LBZ CP3 with an LBZ reg and then just tune out the lope with EFI.

X2, can't you just tune it out?

Yeah just use the LBZ regulator with the CP3 and tune it for it, I've got a brand new one here still in the package if you want it for a good price Tom. I was going to mod it and use it but I suppose I could just mod mine. I could also help you tune for it since that's what I'm currently running.

I think you just need to adjust the rail current table but I'm not 100% on that. Also, not every truck has this problem-some run no problem, some need to be adjusted.

This info wasnt for me....another person brought it up elsewhere and I was just asking. Ive had enough problems with my modded LB7 regulator that no way am I screwing with using an LBZ pump and messing up how my truck runs even moreso than it is now.

So what you guys are saying is if you use an LB7 regulator on an LBZ pump, then the LBZ pump just outputs the same as an LB7 pump? There would be no benefit to running the LBZ pump because the regulator effectively "dumbs" it down? Thats what I thought.

Thats correct. It wouldn't be much different than just a lb7 pump. You can by the lbz pump about 190 dollars cheaper than an lb7 pump though.
