LB7 vs LLY Pistons

Just wondering if there's a preference between LB7 or LLY pistons to have delipped? Now before everyone starts telling me they're the same hear me out...

I've got a set of LB7 and LLY in front of me and there is a slight difference in the lower oil ring land and wondered if it effected the strength or ring lubrication...

First pair of pictures are LB7

As you can see they have a pair of holes fairly close together that go right through the oil ring land to the inside of the piston. There is another pair of holes 180* and these are perpendicular to the wrist pin.

These are the LLY pistons.

As you can see these have what I would call pockets. These don't go all the way through like the LB7 piston. They are also located further apart and are parallel with the wrist pin, one on each side.

Now my question is will one piston or the other get more oil, fresher oil, cooler oil or anything to the rings or cylinder walls or anything faster? More efficiently? Is one piston stronger than the other? Is one more prone to a hot spot?

The lb7 will probably supply more oil to the thrust face of the skirt and oil ring, but the LLY oil holes in the bottom look like they line up better with the cooling nozzle spray. I'd use the LLY. $.02

Considering where they normally blow out above the wrist pin, I don't see how one will be better than the other

Wow I would've never noticed something like this. I've got a set of lb7 and a set of lly and haven't decided which to de lip. Interested to see if there is hard evidence of one being better than the other
