Alright so ive done all the searching i can take and still havent found exactly what im looking for. So ive got a clean rust free 2500hd reg cab long box 6.0 auto 4x4. It has 240k miles on it, the tranny doesnt have over drive and the motor smokes like a diesel. So i recently picked up a 2002 duramax that was rolled. It has 130k miles and the same options as the gas truck. Its also a reg cab long box. The frames straight and it runs and drives but the body is pretty much done for. So if you havent guessed already what i want to do is put my gasser body on the diesel chassis.

The physical part of putting the body is nothing new ive swapped bodys on older trucks before. But what all has the get changed on the gas cab to run the diesel? I know the gauge cluster has to be changed but what about wiring? Thanks

How about putting the interior, dash and entire electrical system out of the diesel cab into the gas cab and then onto the diesel frame

Simpler then splicing wires and reading schematics to figure out what goes where. It would just be a complete R&R of the whole interior

From what ive read with people swapping diesels into suburbans as long as you keep with the same generation its plug and play with the exception of adding a few wires and youd only change dash harnesses if you put an 03+ motor into a 02 and down chassis. This is what im looking for imformation wise. The exact wiring changes for swapping between 01-02 gas and diesel.

Are the 2 trucks the same year, or at least teh same generation? You don't say what year your 6.0 is. If they are both 02's, then not much will have to be changed as far as wiring goes for the cab. You will obviously run the diesel fuse box, and other underhood associated wiring. The cluster will have to be changed, and I believe you have to run a wire for the wait to start light for the cluster.

My 6.0 is a 2001 so as far as i know its the same wiring as a 2002. If thats all that has to be done can anyone shed some light on which pins the wts light runs from.
