so after the dealer and a performance shop trying to figure out whats going on with my brothers lb7 after 2 months in the shop they still cant figure it out and now. Now Powerlabs in idaho falls wants to replace all sorts of parts because they cant figure it out like fprv and the ecm. Balance rates are all in spec.
The truck is completely stock lb7. It is missing after 2300 rpm and white smoke the coolant level as gone down about 1/2 gallon in 500 miles towing. Weve changed the fuel filter twice, and gm sucked us into dropping the tank and running there fuel supplement which did nothing. The mileage hasnt gone down, theres no fuel in the oil, and the exhaust doesnt smell like diesel or a sweet coolant. There arent any oil leaks, and the shop also said when he commanded rail pressure it would drop to almost nothing when he was driving. What do you guys think? 170k on the truck, and its seen quite a bit of towing miles. Could the turbo be going bad? They also said all the cylinder pressures were in spec too, and the dealer didnt know so they were going to replace all 8 injectors just to see. Ive been thinking it could be a boost leak, or maybe the fuel filter lines are compressing? Considering all this happened while it was towing.
What do you guys think?
Thanks
