Hey guys,
So I picked up my lb7 about a month ago and from the time of purchase the steering had play in it. But the play is a little weird. When turning the wheel counterclockwise it will immediately turn the tires but when turning it clockwise it won't move the tires till about the 2 o'clock position. When I'm driving the truck I can feel a "chatter" sometimes in the steering wheel lien somethings is loose somewhere in the column. I have check tie rod ends and they are all good and I don't get any clatter or clunking when hitting bumps. So I'm a bit confused. Any help or insight would be appreciated!

Sounds like it's ready for NASCAR! The clunk in the steering wheel is a separate issue. It's likely the bushing in the bottom of the steering column. Do a search there are plenty of threads for fixing the clunk.

Ive located the chatter in the wheel but still have alot of play in the clockwise position. Any help? and what are signs of a bad steering box and steering idler arm?

Have someone turn the wheel back and forth. Then go under and look at what's going on.
